[RTA’s solution is] very accurate for us. We’ve had three different consultant firms confirm that our fleet is running at the highest accuracy that we can. We also can track our parts usage a lot more accurately, which makes us more credible and makes our auditors a lot happier, too.
Our mechanics love the note features. Several of them are very good at leaving very detailed notes on the work orders. If they’re gone one day and we need to look and see where they’re at on a work order, we can look through the line notes and say, ‘Oh he’s troubleshooting this and he’s ordered parts, OK we can go back, check with the parts order, find out if that part’s come in and where we’re at in the process.
By being more efficient, even when your inventory grows in dollar value, size, number of parts, you can use the RTA software with the same number of physical people to manage it.
It has returned my investment tenfold just in preventive maintenance. And yet it does so much more.
We can free up mechanics from having to do the paperwork so they can actually spend their time working on the vehicles. We can free up runners that have to go last minute and get parts. We can free up a lot of the hands-on people to do what they’re hired to do.
The preventive maintenance aspect of the RTA fleet software is so flexible that we are able to send PM schedules out for a myriad of different areas of the vehicle, tracking each individually, and giving the shop supervisors flexibility and forecasting what’s coming due so that the vehicle is in the shop once instead of multiple times.
I don’t know how we’d operate without Paperless Shop today. We’ve become so accustomed to it, we don’t rely on paper forms at all. Most of the communication between our garage manager and our mechanic staff is through RTA.
My experience so far with tech support team … I’d rate them a 10 out of 10. When our guys ask a question, they know what we’re talking about and they speak on our level, and they take us right through it. Very nice. They’re fantastic. They know the software inside and out. And they get your problem solved immediately. It’s amazing.
The RTA tech support has been absolutely phenomenal in responding to the problems and issues that I’ve had.
They work very well with the people who aren’t as computer literate or aren’t as technically savvy.

All of the planning, meetings and processes went very smoothly! Our IT staff and the rest of our Fleet Division are very happy with the results as well.
One of the great things the Paperless Inspection does is electronically take the defects that the mechanic finds while he’s performing his inspection and at the click of a button, adds those defects directly to the work order. That now enables a Paperless Shop user, to have all those defects available in the job pool, which is a big step for us migrating from a paper shop to a paperless shop.
